Thanks for the laughs, as well as the beautiful story of Emily. Made me want to have my children do more painting (which is hardly ever the case)!

I laughed out loud several times reading this, thank you! So much of this is resonating and I would love to hear more about hosting well as an introvert (aka my biggest mental hurdle!)

Oh my gosh! That is a wonderful idea. Definitely writing this down as a possible post for later because even ten years in the struggle is so real. Thank you for the kind words!

This is a wonderful post . I am not from the US but live in Italy where there are a lot of Americans. I was shocked at some of the things I've heard people say about Trump supporters. I remember growing up with a grandmother in the UK who was left wing, and my grandfather on the other side was right wing, and they had the most wonderful, friendly but passionate debates. We seem to have lost that ability. Thank you so much for sharing, everyone needs to read these words!

I love hearing stories like this. At first I thought maybe the older generation "had it easy" and that times were less divisive then, but when I really thought about it, I realized that was just not true. What really seems to have changed is that they simply didn't have so much standing in their way--social media, clickbait media, high strung narratives, etc.

Thank you for your kind words! I've not been to Italy yet but would love to see it one day.
